Omen has his smokes plus can recon with his ult, and people really use him more as a duelist who can also smoke up lanes. Brimstone is now no longer used too much (his molly is okay but that’s all he has besides that is his smokes, which really is just for combating the Op). Breach has his offensive kit (his role is initiator after all). ![]() Sage was made irrelevant after her healing wasn’t super powerful, since the rest of her kit is extremely meh (I still like it though). I think overall with the way many people play Valorant, offensive characters (and recon) will always take center stage. I use her from time to time and I think your suggestions on changes would help, but then she would feel a little more like a mix of Phoenix & killjoy instead her own unique character (which isn’t necessarily bad, i mean, Skye is just a mix of different Spike Rush orbs plus a unique healing mechanic, topped off as probably a secret furry). Cypher is a bit similar with his kit but one of his biggest things is that he is also a splash of recon with his camera, his trip wires showing location of who tripped over it, and even his cage now having the noise, letting you know if someone has passed through it. And personally, at low ELOs, the opposite of that statement isn’t necessarily true since a good defense is dependent on the team as a whole). With the aforementioned duelists, they’re more flexible in that when they’re on defense, they can just be aggressive (like the saying, the best defense is a good offense. The thing is, she is so defense oriented that her kit is only useful about 3/4 of the game: on anti-terrorist/defense, and on offense but only after you plant the spike. With Viper, it’s a bit tough to play her as effective as a Jett or Phoenix in lower ELOs (trust me, I’d be like Wood 2 if it was a thing). In games with multiple unique characters (ex: Overwatch), there’s always going to be characters who are only used in lower ELOs/newer players (simpler mechanics like Mercy, Orisa, or Reaper), those who are complex and are only in higher ELOs (things that take a little thought, skill/aim and/or communication like Zenyatta, Sigma, or Windowmaker), and then the characters who can used be in either. I think her kit is “hard” to appeal as the whole player base. I think these changes would make her a lot stronger and more versatile and maybe shift her into the meta on a few match choices not just Split. Maybe these changes would not be great enough but when I play viper, which I do a lot, these are the things I wish would be changed or I think would make my life easier with Viper. I think Viper's main problems lie in the fact that once she uses her abilities they are hard to retrieve, so once a viper uses her utility its a large commitment where as with the other controllers currently in the game they can throw down smokes and still have more available to them making them less readable. The other small quality of life tweak I would make to it is showing the outline on the mini map of where the viper pit will actually cover like how Viper's wall is now. Such as increased visibility in the pit (more so then there is already) so that viper has a greater advantage and it becomes more threatening. I neither see it as an amazing ultimate nor a bad ultimate but I would like to see some tweaks made. In my eyes I see no problems currently with Vipers Pit. The wall may also need to lose some length due tot his change. The wall after being picked up would have around a 15-20 second cooldown. The change I would make to the orb is to let it be picked up like Killjoy's Alarmbot and to balance that out there would be a 10 second cooldown on the orb after it is retrieved.įor the wall I would let it be picked up as well, but You would have to manually pick it up (like how the viper's orb is currently) from where you threw the wall in the first place. I don't think a larger AOE would be bad change I just don't think its necessary. So here are my suggestions.įor starters her snake bites are not underpowered, in my opinion, they are strong if used correctly because of the vulnerability affect they give off and the post plat potential. ![]() I do play viper quite a bit I don't think she's as bad as people make her out to be, but she is not good enough yet.
